Sr. Vice President, Energy & Transportation Group

Chris earned a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate. After graduating in 1985, he appraised commercial real estate properties for the Dallas Central Appraisal District and testified at Appraisal Review Board Hearings. He then continued appraising complex and special use properties for several years with Cushman & Wakefield, a global real estate services and brokerage firm, in their Real Estate Appraisal Division.

In 1992, Chris joined Rash & Associates as a real estate valuation/appeal consultant. After several years negotiating value reductions on commercial real estate, he was promoted to Senior Vice President and now leads the Energy & Transportation division. In this capacity, he has represented and negotiated value reductions on a variety of transportation and electric utilities throughout North America.

Chris oversees a talented staff of individuals specializing in compliance, valuation, and property tax negotiations dealing with local and central tax assessment authorities. The Energy & Transportation Group focuses on investor owned utilities, electric cooperatives, distribution systems, transmission systems, generation assets and other centrally assessed properties. The Transportation sector of the group focuses on railroads, airlines, trucking, intermodal and other transportation companies. He also works closely with the company’s Communications Group, providing support with ILEC’s, CLEC’s, wireless telecommunications providers, cable television systems and telephone cooperatives.

Chris testifies before numerous appraisal review boards concerning valuation issues and capitalization rates. He provides expert testimony in various forums regarding valuation issues and capitalization rate studies.

Chris is a licensed real estate appraiser in Texas, Missouri, Nevada, South Carolina, and Florida. He is also a registered agent in Tennessee and a Senior Property Tax Consultant in Texas.
