Property Tax Alert: Montana

During May, Montana property tax taxpayers who own commercial property will be receiving an income and expense questionnaire from the Department of Revenue. The questionnaire is used by the Department to ascertain commercial property value through the income approach method. The questionnaire requests information regarding the taxpayer's rental income and expenses incurred from the commercial property. The questionnaire does not seek information regarding the income and expenses of the property's occupying tenant.
