Property Tax Alert: Louisiana

Subject to voter approval and the approval of the parish governing authority, the maximum Louisiana local property tax rate that the Iberville Parks and Recreation District is authorized to levy annually is increased from three mills to six mills, and will go into effect July 1, 2004. The tax will be collected in the same manner as other property taxes. The avails of any such tax must be used solely for the acquisition, construction, improvement, maintenance, and operation of park and recreational facilities or improvements.
