Property Tax Alert: Louisiana

A special Louisiana local property tax of four mills on the dollar for the benefit of the New Orleans Sewage and Water Board's drainage system is extended from January 1, 2006, to January 1, 2010. As under the law prior to amendment, the tax will be subject to approval by property owners in New Orleans and subject to the homestead exemption.
