Property Tax Alert: Alabama

The Alabama Revenue Commissioner or local tax assessors are now required to notify new property owners in writing that they must apply for current use valuation for class III property (agricultural property, forest property, residential property, and historic buildings and sites) in order to continue that valuation. Otherwise, the property will be assessed at fair market value.
