Property Tax Alert: Maine

In his State of the State address the Governor of Maine requested several revisions to the tax code aimed at providing tax relief and strengthening the state's economy. Among many requests he sought legislation that would eliminate the personal property tax on new business investments.

Additionally, the Governor proposed a constitutional amendment that would provide property tax relief with a new property valuation system.
