Assessment adjustments have been made to agricultural, commercial, and residential values for Iowa property tax purposes. The overall assessment change by class from 2006 to 2007 is (1) agricultural, 15.4%; (2) residential, 7.5%; and (3) commercial, 4.6%. Final equalization orders will be issued by October 1, 2007, and counties will publish the orders in their official papers by October 15. The basis for equalization of commercial and residential property is market value, while the basis for equalization of agricultural property is productivity.
